I have a query regarding the calculation of averages from the financial results. For eg. if a retail investor wishes to know the CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of a particular parameter like EPS or sales, does he/she sit down and calculate (might be write a code), or is it possible to get these annual growth rates of companies online.

The only place I know of that reports these annual growths is Reuters (http://in.reuters.com/finance/stocks/financialHighlights?symbol=TCS.BO) although I never clearly understood how they computed their growth rates. One alternative is to make a template spreadsheet and copy paste the financial data from the website of your choice. I did write some codes before to do it. I will see if I can make them useful for both of us.
